Renewable Energy Fund

Renewable Energy Fund that you can find to invest in tend to specialise within companies dedicated to renewable energy.  Unlike traditional energy sources such as petroleum, coal, gas etc renewable energy will not deplete over the years and will constantly be available in abundance.  Some good examples are green wind energy, renewable energy solar power and hydropower renewable energy.  With these renewable energy fund sources, the vital ingredients such as water, sunlight and wind will always be with us for the foreseeable future.

With ongoing climate change and growing pressure for companies to become more green it is becoming more apparent that investments in renewable energy fund are going to be and are already a good long term investment.  Indeed many people already have added solar energy funds to their ongoing portfolio of investments.  However, some believe that we are not there yet and that the use of renewable energy use in quantity is still a long way off.

Before deciding on your renewable energy fund you should take into consideration the actual efficiency of the various energy sources because as technology improves certain renewable energy sources could literally become obsolete overnight.  Another consideration is the variable factor such as wind power.  Wind power cannot be considered reliable and would always need a non renewable power source such as petroleum or gas to back up the wind power as and when it is not available.  Solar power again depending on where you are could be considered a risk although you can guarantee sunlight in certain parts of the world which would make this potentially a fantastic renewable energy fund.

So is renewable energy a partial answer to your funding or can it be the biggest investment you could possibly make for a great future return?  There have been and will be a lot of renewable energy company start ups and as tradition and statistics suggest a high proportion of these will not make any money and will subsequently go bankrupt within five years.  This poses the problem of finding which renewable energy fund to invest in.  A wise choice therefore may be to invest only a small part of your portfolio in renewable energy and keep the rest in the more traditional energy companies for the added security.

With the advent of battery powered cars is it time to switch your investments in the traditional car makers to the more green friendly hybrid car manufacturers?  Are these cars the future?  Many people feel that they are not, the battery’s cannot give you the required mileage, they take to long to recharge and the performance of the vehicle is relatively poor.  Another technology that is emerging however is the hydrogen car which may just be the answer but the technology is not quite there to mass produce the hydrogen required to power millions of cars so are these going to be a future quality renewable energy fund?  Only time will tell!
